The Bugatti 400 series glasses are the most modern glasses in our entire range of vintage eyewear. These luxury glasses are only less than ten years old and, contrary to the economic spirit of the time, were not manufactured with production costs in mind.
Quite the contrary: no expense or effort was spared in the production of the Bugatti 400 series. There are frames made of pure titanium or carbon, which are additionally plated with the most expensive precious metals. The 400 series therefore includes 22kt gold-plated spectacles, palladium spectacles and ruthenium spectacles. Even a differentiation was made between the finishing processes, as a palladium-satin-finished frame shines and reflects differently than a palladium frame with a brilliant shine.
The colouring and patterns of the Bugatti plastic frames of the 400 series are also unparalleled. The colour names “night blue”, “beige horn”, “chocolate”, “satin tortoiseshell”, “tobacco”, “brick” or “carmine red” basically say it all.
In the end, this unbelievable demand for quality was the downfall of the makers of the “Bugatti Eyewear” collection, because the enormous production costs were out of all proportion to the small clientele that could afford these unique luxury glasses.
So the “Bugatti Eyewear” story came to an abrupt end in 2016, which also explains why there is no website under the URL www.bugatti-eyewear.com, which is printed on all glasses and cases.
We are very happy to be able to preserve a small legacy of this “Bugatti Eyewear” company history.
At this point, it should not go unmentioned that the Bugatti 500 series once again trumped the Bugatti 400 series, even if this is hard to imagine.
