Lunor: Traditional German Craftsmanship

The glasses of the traditional German brand Lunor can only be called insider glasses outside of the optician industry, because in optician circles Lunor is the benchmark in style and quality.
The company name “LunOr” comes from the first pair of spectacles that they produced: the Lunette d’Or glasses, which were made from real gold.
In 1992, Lunor actually made real gold glasses from 16kt fine gold and 2kt platinum, without mentioning this incredible luxury in detail. This fact underpins Lunor’s entire philosophy: stylish understatement.
Fundamentally, Lunor spectacles are oriented to spectacle shapes of past centuries: there are round Lunor glasses, oval Lunor glasses, octagonal Lunor glasses or even reading glasses from Lunor. However, all Lunor frames have one thing in common: exceptional quality and timeless elegance. True to the motto: “Fashion comes and goes, but quality is forever.”
Thus, Lunor glasses are not designed from a designer perspective, but are made by opticians and craftspeople who do not attach importance to logos. It’s all about superior details and subtleties that enable connoisseurs to immediately distinguish Lunor glasses from other glasses.
In addition to the fine demand for functionality and quality, in the manufacturing of Lunor glasses there is also naturally great value placed on innovation, leading to unique eyewear components being developed over time. The Lunor screw, the titanium pads or the W-shaped bridge have become distinctive features. The same goes for the Lunor extending temples, which can be pushed together like a telescope, which is why Lunor glasses with this mechanism are often called telescope glasses.
The old Lunor glasses are among our favourite glasses in our extensive assortment of vintage glasses, as the Lunor philosophy is very similar to our own. We, too, are mainly focused on the quality and condition of our vintage sunglasses. We leave showmanship and theatrics to others. According to our motto: “The truth doesn’t make a noise.”
