The Bugatti 200 series glasses date back to the 1990s and are a homage to the old Bugatti racing cars of the 1950s. At that time, Bugatti called his cars “Type 251” or “Type 252”. Similar names can be found in the Odotype eyewear collection. For example, there are the Bugatti Odotype 201 glasses and the Bugatti Odotype 202 glasses.
“Odo” means generic, which explains the term “Odotype”. Thus, all Bugatti glasses in this series have the same essential characteristics. The unmistakable frame design and the extraordinary glass construction in particular are characteristic for these predominantly angular metal frames for men.
In addition to the sporty, striking design and ergonomic fit, all Bugatti glasses of the Odotype 200 series, as well as the models of the Odotype 300 series, have flexible spring hinges or even 180-degree temple joints.
Another aspect that makes these high-tech glasses very interesting is the fact that the Bugatti Odotype series was produced for only a few years, until the beginning of 2000, which makes these relatively “young” glasses real rarities in our vintage range of antique eyewear and old sunglasses today.
