Shades - seldom and extremely cool

The shades (plates or shields) were actually designed to be used as sports sunglasses. The functionality was originally the primary feature of these shades. That`s why the shades cover the whole face and offer unrestricted sight from each corner of the eye. A feature which is of especially high importance for most racecar drivers. Because of their design and originally targeted customer base, brands like Porsche and Carrera were very successful. These sports sunglasses quickly became status symbols and were sold as luxury accessories.
